Sandrobber - American Tug 34-015
Sandrobber
is a 2001 American Tug that completed the Great Loop in October 2017. Currently, she is berthed and can be seen at the Fort Loudon Marina, just south of Knoxville, TN. American Tugs are known for
the quality of their design, build, fit and finish…and this meticulously
maintained example is destined for a continued long cruising life. This vessel
is currently for sale by the owners, with an asking price of $194,500.
American
Tugs are ideal cruising vessels for full or part time cruising. The 330 HP
Cummins engine provides great fuel economy for cruising at 8 or 9 mph (2.5 –
3.0 gph depending on load) while allowing for fast cruise speeds of 13 to 14mph
when desired. Top end speeds of 16mph are attained when this vessel is lightly
loaded. This tug is a 2-owner vessel, and other than the saltwater portions of
the Great Loop, its entire life has been in fresh water - and with the
exception of the Loop journey, it has been stored under cover as well. Thus,
you should expect this vessel to be in the best condition possible for a 2001
model. Engine hours are currently 2,950 on the single Cummins 6BTA 5.9L 330 HP
engine. The Northern Lights 6kw Generator currently shows 715 hours.
The
current owners invested significantly to outfit this tug for the Great Loop.
